5-port ethercon switch w/PoE

The SW5E AVB switch from PreSonus provides 5 ports with secure, locking XLR-style Ethernet jacks. It offers support for both standard RJ-45 cables along with the more rugged Ethercon cables commonly found in audio production houses and live sound.

This, along with its robust construction, makes the SW5E an especially good fit for on-location applications. Its Network Link/Activity indicators help you ensure that network data is flowing properly. Four out of the unit’s five ports can provide PoE, enabling network cables to carry electrical power to compatible devices – a rare feature in the current generation of AVB switches. The fifth port is non-PoE, which is useful for linking to additional switches for the creation of a larger network.

This quality product is built to withstand to the rigors of the road and still reliably perform every time. Along with incorporating the XLR Ethernet connectors, it’s housed in a heavy-duty, all-metal chassis, and can be rack-mounted using a rack tray (sold separately). It also employs an internal power supply that conveniently uses a standard IEC connector. Additionally, you can also use the SW5E to connect with non-PreSonus AVB-enabled gear; as long as it’s compatible with the AVB specification, it’s compatible with the SW5E.
